Music of great upheaval
Date and time
28 October 2018, Sunday 19:00
Two great works about human tragedies and
victories. Two nights in a row. Two stars of classical music and the
Ukrainian festival orchestra. All this is in the Lviv Organ Hall on
October 27 and 28.One of these stars is the Hungarian cellist Dora Kokas.
Dora will play solo at the Concert for cello by Edward Elgar. One of
the most beloved cello works and the last great work of Elgar, in which
the composer gave all the despair of the man who survived the First
World War.
Under the direction of Maxim Rysanov, Symphony
No. 5 of Sergey Prokofiev will also be performed by the Ukrainian
Festival Orchestra. "I thought of it as a symphony of the greatness of
the human spirit," Prokofiev said after finishing his work in 1944. This
music is also about man and Second World war. Monumental, emotional,
full of lyricism and tragedy, horrible pictures of war and light motifs
of peaceful life Symphony No. 5.
Dora Kokas was
born in a family of musicians, so it is not surprising that she began
to play cello at four years old. In seven, the girl took part in her
first competition and since then don't returned from them without
prizes. Her last big victories are the 1st prize at the Hamburg Debut
International Cello Competition 2017, 2nd prize in the International
Johannes Brahms Competition 2016, and two special prizes at the 2014
Pablo Casals International Cello Competition.Dora took part in
master classes from many world-famous cellists. Two years ago she
graduated Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, now studying at the
Rozumovsky Academy in London. Performers are only 26 years old, but she
has already conquered the main scenes of classical music - the Wigmore
Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Salzburg Mozarteum, and others.
He is called "the prince among viola players" and "the greatest master of his instrument." Ukrainian Maxim Rysanov was

London, and ended up as an ally and conductor. He is the winner of many
