Timeless organ

Date and time

21 July 2019, Sunday 19:00

Life is uncertain and  every day is replaced with a new one. Some things come, others go. However, some things are eternal. Like the sun, the sky, human values, art and, of course, music. Immortal music for the organ  in the solo performance by Petro Sukhotsky. And it does not matter whether these works were written three hundred years ago or are composed by modern artists – this music lives beyond time.

The concert will become a part of the International Organ Festival, which will be held at the Lviv Organ Hall for the ninth time. From July 14 to August 18, Lviv will turn into the organ capital of Ukraine. The guests will be presented with 15 concerts, outstanding organ players from four countries, master classes and hours of good music!

Petro Sukhotsky  has many memories associated with Lviv. He studied at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy and learned from an outstanding teacher of our time Samuil Daych. In 1990 he got employed at the Volyn Regional Philharmonic as a soloist of the chamber ensemble (later – orchestra) “Cantabile” and combined solo performances with pedagogical work at the Ivan Stravinsky Volyn State College of Culture and Arts. And he became the titular organist at the Lutsk Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul after an organ had been installed there.
He improved his skills with the help of leading organists of Europe. He regularly performs solo programs as an organist in Ukraine and abroad (Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Poland, Austria, Germany, Italy). His repertoire includes works that range from ancient to modern music with a prominent place reserved for the works of Ukrainian authors, whom he always promotes at his concerts.
