Organ and piano

From among all the musical instruments these are the perfect ones. The organ is even referred to as king, and the French royal means kingly. At first sight they resemble each other, since the piano’s keyboard looks like an organ’s manual. However, the organ can number as many as seven manuals.
But according to the way of sound production these instruments are outright opposite: a key, pressurized air and a pipe for the organ, and a key, a hammer and a string for the piano. The organ is a wind and most often mechanical instrument, the piano, on the other hand, is a string and percussive one. They both can directly compete with the whole symphony orchestra.
The effect of combining the organ and the piano into a duet is like having two orchestras in a concert.
