The German organist, Michael Grill, is a great connoisseur and popularizer of Ukrainian music.

In the childhood, Michael Grill met with a family of Ukrainian inventors Polui, a relatives of the famous composer Vasyl Barvinsky. Polui discovered the world of Ukrainian music for Grill.

Grill conducted correspondence with Mykola Kolessa, who often sent his works to make organ transcriptions of them.
Grill helped Roman Savitsky to popularize the music of Ukrainian composers in the west.
Michael Grill studied the organ and music of the Evangelical Christian Churches with a professor. Carl Richter in Munich. Worked as a free organist in the church of St. Matthew in Munich, Germany for a year. Many toured, especially in countries of Europe, Israel and the United States. In 1991 he founded the New Organ Music Munich Concert Organization. From 1994 to 2008, M. Grill was a church musician in Andreaskirch, Munich, where, among other things, he introduced the project "Führenstender Days of the Bach". Since 2008, Grill has been in charge of music at the Church of Christ the Savior in Munich-Schwabing. In addition, Michael Grill is a composer and engaged in the publication of notes of church works. In 1999, he published his scholarly historical work, the book "200th Anniversary of Music of the Evangelical Churches of Munich: 1799-1999 years."
