Cinderella

Musical fairy tale in 2 acts

Act 1

A merry Storyteller takes a fairy tale out of his magic box.  The King invites everyone to the ball.  He meets pretty girl, Cinderella, and asks her to visit the feast in the royal palace.  Cinderella is the first daughter of the Forester, is forced by her stepmother to work day and night.  Cinderella wants to enjoy the ball very much but she is sad because has no ball gown.  Moreover her Stepmother forbids her even to think about royal ball.  Cinderella helps her stepsisters to dress.  After their departure, Cinderella cries in despair.  Her Fairy Godmother appears and presents her magnificent ball gown and glass slippers.  She turns pumpkin into a golden carriage, mice into horses and a rat into a coachman for Cinderella to go to the royal ball.

Act 2

Cinderella arrives to the royal palace.  The King thinks that his guest is unknown beautiful princess.  He welcomes Cinderella with compliments and introduces her to the Prince.  The Prince smiles having seen Cinderella.  He presents her the most beautiful rose in the entire kingdom and composes a ballad.  A clock strikes the midnight and Cinderella has to leave the ball because the spells soon will be broken.  She hastily runs away and loses one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace.  The Prince is enchanted with the beauty and kindness of the beautiful stranger.  After her disappearance he becomes dismal.  The King orders to find the beautiful stranger by trying the slipper on all women in the kingdom.  Even Cinderella’s stepsisters have tried the glass slipper but it fits only Cinderella.  The Prince recognizes her as the stranger with whom he had danced at the ball and with whom he has felt in love from the first sight.  He claims his love and wishes not to part with Cinderella ever.  The Fairy Godmother appears and congratulates Cinderella and the Prince.  The King is very glad that his son has found so beautiful and kindhearted wife.  Now everyone is happy for generous Cinderella has forgiven her stepmother and stepsisters their evil deeds.
