This summer, Lviv will be home to organists from all over the world for two weeks. From August 13 to August 26, the Organ Hall will host the Lviv Organ Festival 2018. 13 concerts, master classes and hours of good music! Three concerts will be presented by Thomas Mellan, a young organist and composer from France.
Thomas is 23 years old, he recently graduated with honors the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California (USA). French organist won national competitions, participated in many music festivals. As Young Artist of the Year, he performed a solo recital in the 23rd Organ Festival at St. Eustache in Paris, France. In 2011, he was one of six organists invited to record on the official Walt Disney Concert Hall Organ DVD. The works by Thomas Mellan were performed in the USA and France. In the Lviv Organ Hall the musician will play on August 15, 16 and 17.
On Wednesday, in the performance of Thomas Mellan we will hear the works of Johann Sebastien Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and César Franck. On Thursday, first performance of the Book of organs by Olivier Messian in Ukraine. And on Friday, the Frenchman will surprise the public with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Max Reger, Anton Webern and Ferenc Liszt.
