String Quartet Élysée is a combination of different musical schools in one collective. The violinist Justina Zajančauskaitė is from Lithuania, the second violinist Laurent Le Flécher - Frenchman, violist Andriy Malakhov studied in Kiev, cellist Igor Kiritchenko - in Odessa and Moscow. All of them combine Paris and the love of chamber music. Musicians graduated the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, all of whom are prize winners of international competitions, travel around the world until they have joined the string quartet.Different worldviews allow performers to mix ideas, develop new dimensions in the interpretation of music, as well as have a unique style. The Elysée Quartet has performed in England, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Israel, Japan, China, Canada, Nicaragua and other countries. In October, the team will visit Ukraine by the first time.The concert in the Lviv Organ Hall will consist of the quartets by Charles Gounod and Claude Debussy, as well as two unfinished creations by Sergei Rachmaninov.

All three well-known in our time quartets by Charles Gounod make you fall in love with their poetry and French wit.Rachmaninov was twice charged for writing a string quartet and both failed to prove the case to the end. The first one, written during the studies at the Conservatory, is sophisticated and colorful, in it there is the influence of Tchaikovsky, Balakirev, Borodin. The second quartet is a mature work with a whole range of emotions. This music absorbed the mood of the era of decadence - a sense of inevitable approaching tragedy.Claude Debussy's Quartet is written under the influence of a meeting with the violinist-virtuoso Eugene Ysaÿe. Pizzicato, flaque and other techniques used by the composer make the strings sound like winds, guitars or drums. This work is completely different from Debussy's other compositions in style, harmony, rhythm, but "bear the imprint of his personality."
